Burbank Airport Police Officers Association Memorandum of Understanding 2006

 

 

 


The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority is a separate government agency created under a joint powers agreement between the three cities of Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena in 1977 for the sole purpose of owning and operating the Bob Hope Airport.  The Authority consists of nine commissioners, three from each city.  The commissioners from each city are appointed by their city council.

2005 AGREEMENT WITH CITY OF BURBANK

     The Airport Authority and the City of Burbank in February 2005 concluded an agreement aimed at charting a course for airport facilities and nighttime noise abatement efforts.  There was an extensive public process beginning in the summer of 2004. See links below for more information.

Meeting Information

The Airport Authority holds regular public meetings on the first and third Monday of each month at 9:00 a.m. in the Sky Room, located in the administrative offices on the second floor of the main terminal building.  Parking in the Hourly parking structure is validated for those attending the meetings.

The Authority has three standing committees that meet on a regular basis in the administrative offices on the second floor of the main terminal building.  The public is welcome to attend, and parking in the Short Term parking structure is validated.  The Operations and Development Committee meets at 8:00 a.m. on the first and third Monday of each month, preceding the regular Authority Commission meeting.   The Finance and Administration Committee meets on Authority meeting dates at 10:30 a.m. or immediately following the full Authority meeting.  The Legal, Government, and Environmental Affairs Committee meets at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday the same week the Authority meets.


Current Agendas

An agenda for each regular meeting of the full Authority and its standing committees will be posted 72 hours in advance of the meeting in the display case in the entryway of the main terminal building, located at 2627 Hollywood Way.

Systems Administrator

 

The Bob Hope Airport has an immediate opening for a Systems Administrator.  Responsibilities include the configuration, implementation and maintenance of various infrastructure technologies.  Focus will be on the administration of the Airport’s network infrastructure to include desktop PCs, servers, network equipment, telephone system and software applications.  Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in Information or Communication Systems or equivalent education/experience and be familiar with Novell, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Active Director, Avaya telephone systems, Cisco IOS, SonicWALL, Dreamweaver, Symantec end point protection server and batch/script writing.  Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work under time sensitive deadlines and interact with all levels of the organization and the public are essential.  Submit resume w/ salary requirements to:

POLICE OFFICER EMPLOYMENT

The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority Police Department is seeking qualified community service minded individuals to serve as fully empowered peace officers to handle traffic, crowd control, anti-terrorism, airport/aviation related security, and general law enforcement.  These positions serve in a general law enforcement capacity and are not responsible for passenger or baggage screening.

Immediate placement is possible for qualified certificated applicants (P.O.S.T. Basic Academy graduate or Basic Certificate holder). Salary: $3684.82/month entry level, higher DOQ, plus liberal benefits package; medical/dental/long-term disability/shift differential/uniforms and equipment (including weapon) provided and maintained/non-P.E.R.S. pension plan.

Requirements:  minimum age 21 years, High School/GED, class C California drivers license, U.S. citizenship, medical/ psychological/background screening.  Applications accepted on a continuing basis.  P.O.S.T. certified retirees encouraged to consider this as a second career.
